We welcome people with disabilities at all our services, groups and church family activities. We continue to work, within the physical constraints of the buildings, to improve our understanding of the needs of people with disabilities and thus ensure better access for people with disabilities to come and hear the Good News about Jesus and join in church family activities.

Since the main entrance to the church building is by fairly steep steps, access for people with mobility disabilities or people who are wheel-chair users is easier by the slope at the end of the church-yard (by the museum or behind the Eagle and Child Pub) or from the church hall car-park. Within the constraints of the church building layout, we have access for people who are wheel-chair users with a limited choice of seating arrangements. There is an accessible toilet within the church building and the church hall.

There is a loop facility for people with hearing impairment which can be accessed from ground floor seating arrangements in the church building.

Large print service sheets and Bible passages are available at the main services. Information on the screen is prepared with people with visual impairments in mind too. We are happy to provide other large print resources, such as Growth Group booklets, as requested. Some other large print resources, such as Bibles, are available for purchase through the church bookstall. Weekly sermons and Bible passages are recorded and available for purchase on CD at the end of each service and selected ones are available for download from the web-site.

There is a weekly group for people with learning disabilities during term time. Please see Good News Group for further information.

Please speak to the welcome team at services or the Church Office 01772 622964, who will be pleased to help, if there are specific requirements with regard to a disability that we may need to consider together to enable you to take part in the life of St Andrew’s Church.
