Who is it for?
Anyone who wishes to see what Christianity is really about, and whether its claims are true. We assume no previous knowledge about God, the Bible, Church ... or anything! Some people come who don't know anyone at St Andrew's, or perhaps have been invited by friends from the Church, but have never been to any Church themselves. Others have been involved in St Andrew's, or Churches elsewhere, for many years, but want to have a fresh look at the heart of the Christian message.
What happens at Christianity Explored?
The evening includes a short DVD, looking at a Bible account of the life of Jesus, and explaining what the Bible says about a given issue. Subjects include 'Who is Jesus?', 'Did Jesus really rise from the dead?', 'What's wrong with the world?', and 'Why did Jesus die?'. But most of the time is spent discussing the issues around tables, with one or two experienced Christians. Some people prefer to just sit and listen to what others say. Others like to come with all sorts of questions of their own. Either way, it's aimed to be an opportunity for people to discover for themselves, as they feel comfortable, the message of Christianity, whether it could be true, and what it's got to do with them.
Does it cost anything?
No.
Where and when is it being held?
Christianity Explored
NEW! A new course is about to start on Thursday 19th January 2012.
The sessions run for 7 weeks (though there are no sessions in half term).
...AND! There is another course being run from Wednesday 18th January for 6 weeks entitled The Prodigal God. See this flyer for more details - Tim Keller takes us through the powerful message of Jesus' best known parable.
Note: Both events are taking place at the back of the main St. Andrew's church building.
