Youth and Children
We make special provision for children at both the 9.45am and 11.15am services. We run a range of fun Bible-based activities for all children aged between 3 and 13 and also a managed crèche for the under 3's if parents want it. All our groups are run by fully DBS and child protection-trained members of the church family who love children/young people and love to teach them about Jesus from the Bible in an age-appropriate way.
Creche: Ages 0-3
Our crèche is run during the service in the room to the back of the church building. It is a manned crèche, for children from birth to somewhere between 2 and 3, depending on what age the parents feel they are ready to move up into scramblers.
Scramblers: Ages 2-5
For children aged 2/3 to the end of reception year (age 5) These children leave after the first 15 minutes or so in the church service and are taken to the Parish Hall where they meet in a downstairs room for singing, Bible stories, craft and playing. The children are brought back into the church building at the end of the service.
Climbers: Ages 5-7 & Explorers: Ages 8-11
At present these two age groups meet together during the 11.15am service and separately at 9.45am service, after the first 15 minutes or so in the church service. They meet in the large downstairs room in the Parish Hall (known as the Clubroom) for games and age appropriate Bible teaching with maybe craft, singing or whatever takes our fancy as long as it’s fun! (Explorers at the 9.45am service meet in the upstairs room in the church hall.) The children are brought back into the church building at the end of the service.
Axis (previously called Challengers): Ages 11-14
After the first 15 minutes of the church service, this group meets together upstairs in the church hall most (but not every) Sunday to chill together whilst studying the Bible, playing the odd game and occasionally drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows... we also meet once a term for socials either after the service or at another time.
PLEASE NOTE: For all these groups parents are required to fill in an annual registration form for their child. All the forms are below:
